Manova Partners Embarks on First Stages of 6.6 MW Community Solar Rooftop Installation in Anne Arundel County, MD
August 3, 2026 - In a first for the company in the U.S., Manova Partners, a boutique international real estate investment manager, has paved the way for a major rooftop community solar installation, which will be the third largest rooftop solar project in the state of Maryland.
The investment manager has leased the roof of 7550 Perryman Court, a 504,000 square foot logistics building in suburban Baltimore, to Centennial, an energy development company focused on commercial and industrial solar and battery storage projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
“The sustainability of our investments and operational practices is essential to our responsibility towards our clients, our tenants, and the communities in which we operate, so we are happy to help move Maryland’s community solar initiative forward with this installation,” said Chris Quiett, head of U.S. Real Estate, Manova Partners.
Centennial will sell the majority of the electricity generated from the solar project to low-to-moderate income households in BG&E’s service territory in Maryland. Once online, the 6.6 MWdc system, with over 11,000 solar panels installed on the roof, will generate enough electricity to power over 750 homes.
“We’re excited to partner with Manova Partners on this project, which represents how solar projects turn commercial rooftops - among the most underutilized assets in real estate - into a reliable, long-term income stream for property owners with no capital investment on their part, while lowering energy costs for households in the community,” said David John Frenkil, founder and managing principal, Centennial.
This is Manova’s first foray into rooftop solar in the U.S. However, earlier this year Manova acquired two logistics properties with a 4.8 MW photovoltaic system near Modena, Italy.
The Baltimore project, which is one of more than 45 in Centennial's portfolio, will add much-needed in-state generation to Maryland, which currently imports more than 40% of its electricity from neighboring states.
The property sits between the Port of Baltimore and Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). Manova Partners acquired 7550 Perryman Court in 2019 on behalf of an institutional client.
